Kingsbridge has one of the highest life expectancy rates in the Westcountry, new figures show.
A child born in Kingsbridge East can expect to live until nearly 86 years, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
But Saltstone has the highest life expectancy rate in the South Hams at 86.4 years, the ONS said.
Thurlestone has a life expectancy of 83.2, closely followed by Allington and Loddiswell on 83.
For Kingsbridge North the figure is 81.3, while people born in Stokenham have an average life span of 80.6.
Meanwhile, people living in Salcombe and Malborough are expected to live until 80.2 years.
Westville and Alvington has the lowest life span in the local area at 77.7 years.
The South West has an average life expectancy of 78.5 years, the joint highest in the UK with the South East.
Scotland continues to have the lowest life expectancy in Britain at 74.6.
