Blossoming new South West business, The Local Food Company, has an unrivalled reputation as the top Hamper provider in the South West.

Having won Green Business of the Year in 2007 and Internet Retailer of the Year for Taste of the West last year, their reputation is one that South West businesses are pleased to trust.

There has been an apparent explosion in consumers food choices of late, with more and more people looking towards locally sourced produce.

The Local Food Company is an online local food retailing specialist delivering quality food from the South West throughout the region and beyond.

A large share of the business is providing ethically sourced, corporate Westcountry food hampers for green businesses throughout the UK and also providing holiday providers with high quality food hampers for guests visiting in self catering accommodation.

The company has a choice of 80 hampers ranging in price from £20 upwards to over £200 for a bespoke selection. They offer a tailor made and project managed service for South West businesses wanting to source traditional, yet tasteful incentive gifts or prizes.

The produce is mostly sourced from small companies and much is still made by hand in offering a truly memorable and unique gift.

Many chefs will say that the best food in the UK is from the Westcountry: The Local Food Company takes full advantage of this opinion.

As a way of celebrating the success of their Green Award, The Local Food Company recently teamed up with top chefs to launch a charity range.

Michael Caines, Lesley Waters, Peter Gorton, The Tanners, Chefs at Jamie Oliver’s 15 restaurant and Paul Da Costa Greaves have all selected their favourite produce and The Local Food Company and their suppliers will be raising funds from the sale of this South West range for charities such as Brainwaves, Families for Children, Jeremiah’s Journey, 15 and Children¹s Hospice South West.

Simon Rooney, who runs The Local Food Company, said: "We have had a great year. Everyone has worked really hard to achieve our successes to date. Suppliers, partners, staff and customers have all been great and contributed to our achievements and we really are grateful for all the support and encouragement we have had."

"We hope our most recent Green Business of the Year Award will help other people to hear about our service and support the local economy by purchasing locally sourced food gifts as well as the children's charities."
