College trustees hold initial meeting

11th May 2008

The trustees of the newly formed Kingsbridge Community College Trust have held their first meeting.

The initial members of the trust are the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufacture and Commerce (RSA), AstraZeneca plc, National Marine Aquarium, RioCIC and Plymouth University.

The trustees discussed ways in which they could support the college and its students and generated a wide ranging number of ideas, including work placements, projects involving scientists and public lectures for the community as well as students

There was great enthusiasm for finding ways of supporting the students, and for building their aspirations by showing them the huge number of routes and careers open to them in the future.

In view of the decision to move to Falmouth, Dartington College of Arts have not joined as a partner although discussions are continuing with the new university in Cornwall.
