Pupils at Kingsbridge Primary School who attend the out of school club have teamed up with a local media student to film and star in their very own talent show.
Natasha Heard, a former pupil, has been attending sessions twice a week since the end of January and collaborating with the talented and enthusiastic pupils to create a DVD of their work.
The pupils came up with the idea of the talent show, they planned their own individual performances based on whatever they wanted and filmed them, mainly in the school hall at the primary school, or outside in the play areas.
They also got the chance to be more technically involved with the project by filming each others performances, which they enjoyed very much.
Natasha Heard: "I decided to approach the out of school club to collaborate with as children are so much fun to be around."
One student who took part, Maddie Weeks, said "I enjoyed watching people show their talents and skills. I had fun doing gym and playing the guitar and I liked what everyone else did."
The aim of the project was to get the children to use their initiative and create something from scratch that they could be proud of.
The performances on show include gym and dance routines, songs, martial arts and ballet.
By taking part in this project, the children have learned new skills within filmmaking and have had the responsibility of organising their own roles and ideas within the project.
The DVD is part of Natasha's final year work for her degree at the University of Plymouth.
"I decided to approach the out of school club to collaborate with as children are so much fun to be around," the 22-year-old said.
"They are so creative and eager to learn new things. They really made this project enjoyable.
"I also love the idea of a talent show as it is a great opportunity for the pupils to showcase what they do outside of school, and now they can have a DVD to keep."
Kingsbridge Primary School Out of School Club takes a variety of ages from the end of school until 6pm. It also runs during school holidays.
Pupils attending the club take part in various activities such as painting, photography, IT, cooking and indoor and outdoor play.
