Kingsbridge Community College raised nearly £2,000 for Comic Relief

18th March 2007

Students and staff at Kingsbridge Community College raised nearly £2,000 on BIG Red Nose Day on Friday 16 March.

Throughout the week, a team of red nose sellers had worked their way through a mountain of noses and fair trade chocolate.

On the big day, as the red nosed Jolly Roger fluttered on the flag pole, students arrived in an array of red attire and hairstyles.

The day kicked off with a 'BIG breakfast', raising over £250, followed at break time by 'BIG cake stalls', the mouth-watering offerings baked by several tutor groups.

A sponsored 'BIG haircut', organised by the sixth form was followed by the 'BIG Jump' and raspberry grand finale.

"Well over 400 students turned up and in the true spirit of Comic Relief, star jumped and 'raspberried' and raised yet more money in their generous donations. Well done everybody!," Kingsbridge Community College said in a statement.
